King of Card Games – Six Reasons to play Solitaire

You may know it as ‘Patience’, ‘Card Solitaire’ or ‘Solitaire’. Whatever you call it, Solitaire is a classic card game that has been around since the 18th century. These days’ digital versions and variants make it an easy game to pick up and learn at any age, no matter where in the world you are. Not sure yet if Solitaire might be for you? Well, here are just a few reasons that giving it a go could be one of the best things you do today.

‘Benefits for your mind and mood’

1. In some versions of Solitaire, the player cannot see the cards before they play them. Other versions have different systems. All these unique rules are great for improving your cognitive skills and decision making. Card games of this type can help develop strategic thinking, planning, and visual organization, all of which are all-important for long-term brain development. It’s like a workout for your mind!

2. Focusing on a game that relies on method rather than luck gives players a sense of achievement. It also makes us feel positive about ourselves and our abilities.

3. Card games are great for improving visual and manual dexterity. Shuffling, moving, and swapping cards are relatively simple ways to keep your hands moving. Focusing on creating order and sequences encourages the brain to actively seek visual cues, which can help improve visual memory.

4. If you find yourself feeling stressed and run down at the end of the day, Solitaire works well as a calming tool for many people. Being able to forget your worries and concentrate on a single task has been proven in studies to help reduce anxiety.

5. Having so many different styles and variations means Solitaire is a great game to teach others. Solitaire card games like Klondike, FreeCell, and Spider are all simple to learn and appeal to different abilities and ages. Great for building bonds and improving teamwork or communication with your kids, friends, or family.

Whether you’re a first-time player or well-versed with card games, Solitaire games offer a wide range of playing experiences. Quick to pick up and universally popular, card games fans have an extensive online community. So, turn on one of our online games and give it a try.

How to play the NEW "Long Beach" solitaire with SolSuite 20.5!

In the latest SolSuite 20.5 release, two new and original solitaire games have been added.

One of them is "Long Beach", a Two-Deck solitaires type game.

The object of the game is to place all the cards to the Foundations:
- "Ace" foundations: Build up, in any suit but its own, from Ace to King. For example, a 2♥ can only be played on an Ace♣♦

- "King" foundations: Build down, in any suit but its own, from King to Ace. For example, a Queen♠ can only be played on a King♥♣♦

On the tableau, you have four piles on the left side of the screen and four on the right side of the screen.
The tableau rules are:
- In the first four columns, build down in any suit but its own. For example, a 5♠ can only be played on a 6♥♣♦.
- In the last four columns, build up in any suit but its own. For example, a 10♦ can be only played on a 9♠♥♣.
- The top card of each column is available for play to another tableau column or to the foundations.
- A packed sequence, or any portion of it, may be moved to another tableau column.

- Spaces may be filled with any available card or packed sequence.

Cards from the stock pile can be dealt one at a time to the waste pile, and then played to the tableau or to the foundations.

You have to be aware that you might arrive at the end of the game and find that, for example, you have a King♠ to be placed on a Queen♠.

Fortunately, cards can be played to the Foundations back to the Tableau piles, so to end the game.

Hope you enjoy this new solitaire! 😃

SolSuite 2020 v20.4 has just been released, and includes two original solitaire games. One of them is called "Endeavor" and it's a Fan solitaires type.
This game is played with two sets of cards. All the Aces are removed from the pack and place on the Foundations, which will be built up in suit from Ace to King.
The rest of the pack will be dealt in thirty-two fans of three cards each.
On the tableau:
- Cards will be built down in suit. For example, a 10♣ can only be played on a Jack♣.
- The top card of each fan is available for play to another tableau fan or to the foundations.
- Only one card at a time can be moved.

- Spaces can't be filled.
Strategy and Tactics 💡

Simple Simon: part of the Spider Solitaire family of card games!

A new game has been added to Solitaire Collection Free, the 100% free collection that includes 9 challenging Solitaire games.

Simple Simon is a game of American origin and it's part of the Spider Solitaire🕷family of card games.

To win this game, you have to remove all the cards from the Tableau to the Foundations, and this is obtained by building descending suit sequences from King to Ace.

Being similar to Spider, you will be able to build down regardless on suit on the Tableau piles:

Build down, regardless of suit. For example, a 3 ♥ can be played on a 4 ♠♥♣♦.

But to move a card sequence from on the pile to another, the sequence must be build down in suit:
Cards of the same suit and in a descending sequence may be moved as a unit
As soon as a suite is completed, the cards will be automatically removed from the tableau.

Game hint 💡
Preferably, build on the tableau in a descending suit sequence as opposed to a descending non–suit sequence.

SolSuite Solitaire 19.9 NEW solitaire!

This month a couple of new and original games were added to the version 19.9 of SolSuite Solitaire. One of them is called Josephine, and it is a Two-Deck solitaire game with the following characteristics:

⌚ Game time: Medium; 5-10 minutes
👉 Difficulty level: Easy
💪 Skill level: Moderate
🏆 Chance of winning: High; about 1 in 3; 33.3%

As you can see, the chances of winning this game are quite high. However, you might want to take into account a couple of strategy tips:

1 ) Unless it becomes necessary to release an important card in a higher row, avoid playing cards from above a gap to a foundation until its duplicate has been dealt.

2 ) When the top cards of the Ace and King foundations of the same suit are in sequence, consider reversing cards, one at a time, from one foundation to the other.
